Virtual Craft Fair 2021

Welcome to the Craft Fair 2021! Meet the exhibitors and take a look at the amazing handmade crafts on offer.

Since 1993 Grade 1 listed Clare Priory has hosted the Craft Fair every July. Over the years it has grown into the hugely successful event it is today, welcoming over 10,000 visitors during the weekend.

Exhibitors and visitors alike return year after year to take in the unique atmosphere the Priory setting has to offer. As a not-for-profit event, all proceeds go to charity and none of this would be possible without the team of unpaid volunteers who donate their time and expertise to run this event every year.

I miss going to fairs... however, I'm still making a variety of original, sometimes quirky, often useful leather goods and accessories. For small, postable items that make great stocking fillers/gifts, please take a look at my Etsy shop. For unique and custom bags, cases and belts please get in touch and I'll send you what details and (bad) photos I can. Hope to see you all next year?!
Handmade sustainable linen Pinnies and garments for adults & children.

I produce A6 sized photo cards and mounted, framed and canvas images in various sizes.

Most of my subject matter is from the natural world - recorded on my home patch around Maldon, N Essex and Suffolk and from travels in Australia, New Zealand, France and USA etc.

If you are interested in my work or would just like to see more of my images - then please visit my website - . If necessary you can contact me via the contact page and also leave a comment on my guestbook page.

This photograph was taken near Great Totham, a village near Maldon, Essex. It is titled 'Essex Barley'.

I am a self-taught sculptor and creative, based in Suffolk, and am developing a range of wall art, sculptures and candle holders.

All my stone sculptures are individual moulds taken from an initial hand-carved piece.

My current works are themed around Ancient Egyptian, Celtic and Catholic, and the main casting material used is a reconstituted sand stone, however I am also trailing new materials and hope to have these available shortly.

As a metal fabricator by trade, I have also started to create larger scale metal sculptures and am looking to grow this element of my artwork in coming months.

Luxury artisan scarves

All of our fabric patterns are unique to us and have been created from handmade drypoint etching prints.

I take photos, often from days out to stately homes, and these become the basis of my etchings. I aim to emphasise the intricate detail of them and to rework their sense of history. The patterns are then printed using a manual press before some are painted using watercolour. After this, the designs are transferred to fabric and I sew them into wearable art.

Engraved Glassware
Firstly let me introduced myself, my name is Karen Harvey and I am the proud owner of Karen gets crafty. I make unique products made from many materials, some of which are different kinds of fabrics, wool and felt. I have participated at Clare Priory for many years and look forward to being able to participate in this virtual event.

Although unusual and a bit strange, this virtual event allows me as a business to showcase what I do and maybe tempt you into a sale or two.

I am well known for my embroidery, in particular my gingerbread people and my wipe clean doodle dolls but also my memory bears which allow me to bring love and happiness into the hearts of families whom have been departed from their loved ones.

I love what I do and hope that through this virtual event I can bring I little happiness and joy to you too.

A unique display selling fossils and natural crystals for collectors and home decor (no jewellery).
NaviStitch is created by Sam Luxford in her studio in Ardleigh, Essex. Sam works primarily with old navigation charts creating original art and greetings cards.

Original art is created by hand-stitching nautical designs directly onto used or vintage navigation chart. Sam loves to work on vintage charts, although they are becoming quite hard to find! Great care is taken to match the design and thread colours to the chart. Some of the sail shapes are inspired by the string art of the 1970's, curve stitch makes a beautiful sail shape suggesting movement in the sail.

Available framed work can be viewed in the studio by appointment, selected venues or where you find NaviStitch at an event. You will also find a selection of unframed original work on the NaviStitch website.

Commissions also available and make a perfect gift. Sam holds charts that cover most of the UK in stock and can often source one if the location you require is not in stock. Once you have chosen the location then you can choose what design you would like stitched and the thread colours used.

Sam also has an extensive range of greetings cards produced using the same techniques. You can find all the designs on the NaviStitch website or Etsy shop.

I use the French cartonnage technique to make a wide variety of items, such as jewellery boxes, napkins holders, pot/pencil holders, desk tidy pots, TV remote control holders, waste paper baskets, playing cards boxes, notepads, credit card wallets, magazine racks, pretty baskets, tissue box holders. The technique involves using cardboard of different thicknesses which is then covered with paper or fabric. The cardboard gives strength to the object and the papers I select add a very appealing finish. Every item on sale is handmade and is unique as I only make one of each design.

Please visit my Etsy shop to see the range of items I create.

Chris Sargent - A real "hands-on" crafter and superb horticulturalist proprietor of the Phoenix Nursery and now sole manufacturer of the Millennium Garden Beacon.

Chris took over the production of the beacons after our old friend Clive Gurner sadly passed away, all too early, just a few short years ago.

The beacons, designed by Clive, are still proving as popular as ever and Chris is able to supply both them and the citronella candles they hold.

Ever the traditionalist who prefers to do business face to face, Chris is currently best contacted for orders by e-mail on or by phone 07789-955963
